2020 Grammys Preview: What to Expect

The 62nd Annual Grammy Awards are airing live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles tonight (Sunday, Jan. 26, 2020) on CBS at 8pm ET/5pm PT. CBS All Access subscribers can also tune in via the mobile app.

Alicia Keys is hosting the biggest night in music for the second year in a row. Announced presenters include Brandi Carlile, Common, Ava DuVernay, Cynthia Ervo, Jim Gaffigan, Dua Lipa, Trevor Noah, Ozzy Osbourne with Sharon Osbourne, Billy Porter, Bebe Rexha, Smokey Robinson, Tanya Tucker, Shania Twain, Keith Urban, and Stevie Wonder.


Throughout the night, there will be performances by Aerosmith with Run-DMC, Camila Cabello, Brandi Carlile and Tanya Tucker, Billie Eilish, Ariana Grande, H.E.R., Jonas Brothers, Lizzo, Demi Lovato, Rosalia, Blake Shelton, Gary Clark Jr. and The Roots, Gwen Stefani, Tyler, the Creator, and Charlie Wilson.

Also, Lil Nas X will be joined by BTS, Billy Ray Cyrus, Diplo, Mason Ramsey, and more surprise guests for an "All-Stars" rendition of "Old Town Road."

A “Fame: I Sing the Body Electric” tribute to honor longtime Grammy executive producer Ken Ehrlich will be performed by Joshua Bell, Camila Cabello, Gary Clark Jr., Common, Misty Copeland, Lang Lang, Cyndi Lauper, John Legend, Ben Platt, and The War and Treaty.

There will also be tributes to Nipsey Hussle, Prince, and John Prine. Kirk Franklin, DJ Khaled, John Legend, Meek Mill, Roddy Ricch, and YG will pay tribute to Nipsey Hussle. Usher and Sheila E. will honor Prince, while Bonnie Raitt will pay tribute to John Prine.

The Preservation Hall Jazz Band and Trombone Shorty will perform for the "In Memoriam" piece remembering those in music that passed away during 2019.


The big awards of the night include Album of the Year, Best New Artist, Record of the Year, and Song of the Year. Lizzo leads with the most nominations at eight nods (including the Big Four), with Lil Nas X and Billie Eilish following behind with six nods each. Check out the nominees for the Big Four below:

There will be several locations to watch preshow events and red carpet footage. The GRAMMYs Live from the Red Carpet pre-show will be streamed on Twitter and GRAMMY.com starting at 5pm ET. There will also be Live Red Carpet footage on E! at 6pm ET and on CBS at 7pm ET.

The Billboard Grammys Pre-Show will be streamed live on Twitter from 5:30pm ET until 8pm ET, with Chelsea Briggs and singer Bryce Vine hosting.
