ACM Replaces Postponed Awards With 'Our Country' TV Special
The Academy of Country Music Awards were recently postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic, however, in its place, there will be a CBS special, ACM Presents: Our Country.
The two-hour special will include intimate conversations and at-home acoustic performances by a variety of country music stars. Special guests will also recap their favorite moments from the ACM Awards throughout the past 55 years. Participating artists are to be announced in the coming weeks.
In a statement, Damon Whiteside, CEO of the Academy of Country Music, said, “Although the highly anticipated 55th ACM Awards show is unable to take place on April 5 due to the health crisis, we still wanted to deliver fans an entertaining ACM Country Music special as planned.”
The 55th Academy of Country Music Awards are expected to be rescheduled and aired on CBS in September, but dates and venues have yet to be confirmed.
ACM Presents: Our Country will air at 8pm ET on April 5 on CBS.
