Bee Gees Biopic From 'Bohemian Rhapsody' Producer Gets Green Light

The Bee Gees are going to be the subject of a new music biopic that is in the works thanks to Bohemian Rhapsody producer Graham King, Paramount Pictures, production company Sister, and Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Partners.

King’s GK Films were able to obtain the life rights to the Gibb brothers’ story as well as the group’s music rights with the assistance of Paramount. Paramount, which recently saw success with the music biopic Rocketman, purchased the rights to the Gibb family estate on behalf of King.

Spielberg will serve as a producer on the film. Originally, Spielberg was working on creating a film on the Bee Gees for over a decade, but he was unsuccessful in securing the necessary rights from Barry Gibb, the Bee Gees’ lone surviving member.

No director, screenwriter, or actors are currently lined up for the biopic.
