Best Songs of the Summer 2019

Now that we have really settled into fall, we felt it was time to look back on what songs truly defined Summer 2019.

Each year, there are always a few standout songs that will bring back memories of the time even as the years go by. This year, these were the songs we won't be forgetting.

"bad guy" - Billie Eilish

Although Billie Eilish thought everyone would hate "bad guy," that didn't stop the track from skyrocketing to the top. A bass line like that is hard to forget.

"Old Town Road (Remix)" - Lil Nas X & Billy Ray Cyrus

Billy Ray Cyrus hopped on "Old Town Road," which had previously achieved some chart success, and soon the country rap song was at the top of the charts.

"Suge" - DaBaby

"Suge" not only charted, but went certified platinum and put DaBaby on the map as one of the hottest rappers in the game currently.

"Truth Hurts" - Lizzo

This was Lizzo's summer, and "Truth Hurts" is just one example of that.

"Someone You Loved" - Lewis Capaldi

Every year has to have that go-to summer ballad.

"Sucker" - Jonas Brothers

Naturally, as the group's return single, "Sucker" left a lasting impression.

"Hot Girl Summer (ft. Nicki Minaj and Ty Dolla Sign)" - Megan Thee Stallion

Although the song wasn't released until August, the "Hot Girl Summer" internet meme, created in part by another Megan Thee Stallion song, preceded and was a prominent part of the entire summer.

"Ransom" - Lil Tecca

"Ransom" was Lil Tecca's breakout single, and there's no doubting that since it was Spotify's most-streamed song of the summer in the U.S.

"Con Altura (ft. J. Balvin and El Guincho)" - Rosalía

This was Rosalía's year and "Con Altura" specifically put the Spanish songstress on people's radar.

"If I Can't Have You" - Shawn Mendes

Inspired by English pop-rock band The 1975, "If I Can't Have You" quickly became a fan favorite.

"Never Really Over" - Katy Perry

"Never Really Over" simply delivered on the dreamy pop we've all come to know and love from Katy Perry.

"Goodbyes (ft. Young Thug)" - Post Malone

Since Post Malone's debut in 2016, he has been releasing hits that have resonated no matter the season, so it's no surprise that "Goodbyes" quickly became a song of the summer.

"Talk" - Khalid

Let's face it, Khalid just knows how to make a feel-good summer hit.
