Bob Dylan Museum to Open in 2022
Over 100,000 artifacts connected to Bob Dylan will be displayed at a new Bob Dylan museum set to open in Tulsa, Oklahoma on May 10, 2022.
The Bob Dylan Center, which has finished initial construction, is located in the Tulsa Arts District near the Woody Guthrie Center. The artifacts featured in the museum will span over 60 years and include handwritten lyric manuscripts, previously unreleased recordings and filmed performances, rare photographs, and more. There will even be a studio recreated from Dylan's hey-day so visitors can experience “what it was like to be present at one of Dylan’s historic recording sessions.”
The news of the museum comes just after the announcement of a new Bob Dylan art exhibit in Miami. Recently, Dylan sold his entire songwriting catalog to Universal Music. The deal is valued at around $300 million, and gives Universal ownership of more than 600 songs spanning nearly six decades.
Dylan also began the new year with the release of a special archival set called 1970. It features 74 previously unreleased tracks, demos, and outtakes - including nine songs that feature Beatles legend George Harrison.
