Camila Cabello Drops New Song & Video 'Don't Go Yet'

Camila Cabello has released her first new solo single since her 2019 sophomore album Romance. Titled "Don't Go Yet," the track is a high-energy English-Spanish tune where Camila asks a lover to stay the night.

Cabello teased the new release with two social media snippets: a video of her driving in a vintage car and another of the singer getting out of her claymation automobile and ringing a doorbell. She also posted a telenovela-esque poster for the single, with the words "Bienvenidos a la Familia" ("Welcome to the Family"), on top.

"Don't Go Yet" is the first single off Cabello's upcoming album, Familia. In another Instagram post, Cabello detailed how the new album came to be:

"The album’s journey started with Scott Harris and our makeshift studio in my bedroom in Miami about a year ago. We just had a mic, some MIDI keyboards and guitars! Then we brought it to LA where I met and worked with Mike Sabath for the first time. That first day of working together, we wrote this song after listening to old Cuban songs and playing with my dog Tarzan. Then Ricky Reed (who side-gigs as my therapist sometimes LOL) put his sauce alllll over it. These guys have become my true friends and we created a really loving and inspiring creative space."

Cabello went on to explain Familia is inspired by "family and food," and told her fans, "I hope you enjoy it and I hope it inspires many wine drunk kitchen dance parties for you and your familia." Cabello also recently told Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1 the new album was partially inspired by spending more time with her own family due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Don't Go Yet" comes with a colorful new music video created by Philippa Price and Pilar Zeta. In it, Camila arrives at a family gathering and parties to an amazing dance number. Several of Cabello's real-life family members, friends, and collaborators even make cameos at the end.

While a release date for Familia has yet to be announced, fans can catch Cabello content elsewhere in the entertainment world. The former Fifth Harmony member will make her film debut as the titular princess Cinderella. The film arrives on Amazon Prime Video in September. Cabello will debut original music in the movie and star alongside Idina Menzel, Billy Porter, Pierce Brosnan, Missy Elliott, and more.
