Carly Rae Jepsen Announces Companion Album 'The Loveliest Time'
Last week on social media, Carly Rae Jepsen teased a companion album to 2022’s The Loneliest Time. We now have official confirmation that a companion album is indeed on the way, and it's called The Loveliest Time.
The LP is set for release on July 28. “I got to know loneliness and discover the beauty in it,” the pop singer wrote within an emotional post to social media. “The loneliest time taught me that growth comes from being planted in darkness. But now the world has opened itself back up again and in turn so have we. It’s time for celebration and for all the lessons we have learned to burst into joyful action.”

The Loveliest Time will feature 12 songs, including the new single “Shy Boy.” Jepsen worked on her new album with James Ford, John Hill, Patrik Berger, Rostam Batmanglij, Kyle Shearer, and more. She's also released the cover art, which sees her dressed in a gold two-piece set while leaning against a dark ledge.
The Loneliest Time is the third straight Carly Rae Jepsen album to get the companion treatment. She started the trend by releasing E•mo•tion: Side B after the landmark 2015 album E•mo•tion. A few years later, Jepsen issued Dedicated and Dedicated Side B.
