What's your favorite music memory/moment?

"Backstreets/Sad Eyes" as performed by Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band on September 30, 1978 in Atlanta, Georgia at the Fox Theater.

Please list your top 5 or 10 songs, with a brief reason why each song made your list.

  • "There Will Never Be Another You" - Chet Baker
His Pacific Jazz years highlighted his immediate talent as a jazz vocalist and trumpeter.

  • "I've Just Seen A Face" - The Beatles
Melodic goodness, all around. And, the accompanying Help! film doesn't hurt either.

  • "Ruby" - Eric Clapton
An obscure instrumental made for a film soundtrack that serves as a wonderful stereo headphone experience.

  • "Battered Old Bird" - Elvis Costello
One of the best lyrical storytellers of our time. Elvis' vocal ranges from comforting to frightening.

  • "Most Of The Time" - Bob Dylan
Dylan. Peddling the belief that "she" never got to him... much.

  • "Far From Me" - Grateful Dead
A Brent Mydland lead vocal, shortly after he joined the band. The band carries some great Eagles' harmonies, and Jerry's playing is up front.

  • "Suspicious Minds" - Elvis Presley
A powerhouse of a single. The fade-up at the end is a great tribute to giving the relationship one last shot.

  • "Angel Flying Too Close To The Ground" - Willie Nelson
The perfect form of appreciation to those who let us in but had to leave. Tears every time.

  • "Cycles" - Frank Sinatra
One of his greatest down-and-out tunes. He sings this at just the right age to pull it off.

  • "Backstreets" - Bruce Springsteen
The best movie I never saw.
