Chappell Roan Performs 'Pink Pony Club' and New Song 'The Giver' on SNL
In case you missed it, we're here to report Chappell Roan finally made her Saturday Night Live musical guest debut...and yes, she used the opportunity to share a new song.
It all went down last Saturday night, during the November 2 show. It was the final episode before Election Day (November 5), with John Mulaney as host, and was notable for featuring an appearance from Kamala Harris. (The Vice President acted alongside Maya Rudolph, who was in character as the Democratic candidate for President.)

First, Chappell unleashed a moving performance of "Pink Pony Club" to the NBC studio audience. She wore a poofy red wig with white streaks, as well as a shimmering white dress adorned with two silver spiders. The stage was decorated with smoke and horses running wild on the screen behind Roan, and by the time she got to bridge, the crowd was full on belly-belting the lyrics back to her.
Keeping the same voluminous wig, Chappell revealed a new track for her second song of the night. It was a chipper, sapphic country tune called "The Giver," and featured fiddles and high-note riffs from Roan. "'Cause you ain't got to tell me / It's just in my nature / So take it like a taker, 'cause, baby, I'm a giver / Ain't no need to hurry, 'cause, baby, I deliver / Ain't no country boy quitter / I get the job done," Roan sings in the song's chorus.
The full performance of "The Giver" was previously available to watch online, but has since been taken down by NBC. You can watch the whole thing – as well as other SNL episodes – with a Peacock account.
Next week's SNL will feature Charli XCX doing double duty as both host and musical guest. As for Chappell Roan, the pop star has finally finished her tour in support of The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess. The trek ran from September 2023 until October 2024.
