Childish Gambino Re-Releases Album '3.15.20' & Announces World Tour
Remember when Donald Glover dropped a Childish Gambino album right at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic? The multi-hyphenate entertainer has now put out a new project, which he's described as “the finished version of ‘3.15.20’, the album i put out 4 years ago.”

3.15.20 is now titled Atavista. Besides all of the tunes from the previous record (which have now been properly named), the 11-track LP includes the new song “Little Foot Big Foot,” featuring Young Nudy. That song in particular comes with a brand new black-and-white music video directed by Glover’s longtime collaborator Hiro Murai, starring Quinta Brunson, Monyett Crump, Rob Bynes, and others.
Additionally, Childish Gambino has announced a tour of North America, Europe, Australia, and Asia. Dubbed the New World Tour, Glover will take Amaarae and Willow along as openers for select dates. The trek marks his first tour since 2019: around the time when he dropped the internet-breaking single “This Is America” and his Summer Pack EP, off the back of his 2016 album, “Awaken, My Love!” That same year, Gambino also headlined Coachella and dropped Guava Island, his movie with Rihanna.
Glover released 3.15.20 in 2020, uploading the unfinished album to donaldgloverpresents.com before taking it down. It included a number of songs that are similar, if not the same, to those that appear on Atavista. When it reappeared on streaming services a week later, it was under the name 3.15.20 with new song titles and guest appearances by Ariana Grande, 21 Savage, and Summer Walker, among others.
As Glover noted in his statement, most of the songs on Atavista are polished versions of those songs. He also added, “there’s a special vinyl coming soon w/ visuals for each song,” and, “the all new childish gambino album comes out in the summer.”
Since dropping 3.15.20, Glover has worked on a plethora of film and television projects. His acclaimed FX series Atlanta concluded, he executive-produced the Prime Video series Swarm in 2022, and his remake of Mr. & Mrs. Smith, with Maya Erskine, dropped this year. He's also been tapped to develop a Lando Calrissian feature film.
