Coldplay Share Details of Next Album, 'Moon Music'
Coldplay have reunited with producer Max Martin to create a celestial new album. Their tenth studio effort will be called Moon Music, and is set to drop October 4.
Max Martin previously helped the British band out with their last LP, Music of the Spheres, which was released back in 2021. Moon Music's first single, called “Feelslikeimfallinginlove,” arrives on Friday, June 21. An album cover has also been shared. It's unclear of Moon Music will be the last record to come from Coldplay, as Chris Martin revealed the band will stop writing music in 2025.
Music of the Spheres housed one of Coldplay’s biggest songs in years: the BTS collab “My Universe.” The single was the band’s first No. 1 hit since “Viva La Vida” and also earned Coldplay a nomination for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance at the 2023 Grammy Awards.
The group is still currently on their massive Music of the Spheres World Tour. The tour started in 2022 and isn't set to end until November of this year. Similar to the Mylo Xyloto Tour (2011–12), the concerts make extensive use of pyrotechnics and confetti. However, they've been adapted to minimize the group's carbon footprint. The shows utilize the first mobile rechargeable show battery in the world via BMW, and Coldplay plants a tree for every ticket sold.
