Depeche Mode Tease Upcoming Announcement with Berlin-Based Video
English electronic band Depeche Mode is building anticipation. The group shared a new teaser for a big upcoming announcement that's expected on October 4.
Earlier this week (September 27), the band posted a photo of a studio on Instagram with the date 4.10.22 (October 4). A teaser video has now been shared ahead of the announcement, indicating some relationship to Berlin and confirming the announcement will come at 1pm CET/12pm BST Tuesday.
“Join us virtually,” the band wrote. No further details on what the announcement will be have been shared, however, the band recently posted a picture of them working on new music in the studio. “Finding stability in what we know and love, and focusing on what gives life meaning and purpose,” the picture was capitoned.
The band’s new announcement comes just months after founding member and keyboardist Andy Fletcher died in May at age 60. Fletcher was a member of the band for more than four decades, since the release of their debut album Speak & Spell in 1981.
Depeche Mode's last studio album was 2017's Spirit. In 2020, they released a live album called Live Spirits Soundtrack. Notably, their previous live album – which was released in 2014 – was called Live in Berlin.
