Disney+ Debuts 'Hamilton' Trailer Ahead of July Release

The filmed version of the Hamilton stage show will be released on Disney+ in July, and ahead of the release, the streaming service has shared the first trailer.

Originally, the movie was going to open in theaters in October 2021, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the release was moved up and shifted to Disney+.

The movie features the original Broadway cast of the Tony-winning musical and was filmed at the Richard Rodgers Theatre in New York City in June 2016. The cast includes Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda as Alexander Hamilton, Daveed Diggs as Marquis de Lafayette/Thomas Jefferson, Renée Elise Goldsberry as Angelica Schuyler, Leslie Odom Jr. as Aaron Burr, Christopher Jackson as George Washington, Jonathan Groff as King George, Phillipa Soo as Eliza Hamilton, Jasmine Cephas Jones as Peggy Schuyler/Maria Reynolds, Okieriete Onaodowan as Hercules Mulligan/James Madison, and Anthony Ramos as John Laurens/Philip Hamilton.

Hamilton will be released on Disney+ on July 3.
