Eli Young Band, Whiskey Myers, & More to Play Drive-In Concerts in Texas
Eli Young Band, Whiskey Myers, Pat Green, Josh Abbott Band, and Kevin Fowler are all set to perform a show for the new drive-in concert series, Concert in Your Car.
Taking place at the Globe Life Field stadium outside of Dallas on four consecutive nights of June, the shows are an attempt at safely returning to live music during the COVID-19 pandemic. If the scheduled shows are successful, more shows may be scheduled regularly.
Eli Young Band will kick off the series on June 4, Whiskey Myers will perform on June 5, Pat Green on June 6, and Josh Abbott Band and Kevin Fowler will hit the stage on June 7.
The concerts will follow CDC social distancing guidelines, so attendees are expected to remain inside their vehicles for the entire show. Attendees will park in a lot adjacent to Globe Life Field with every other parking space left open. There will be a full stage with jumbo screens and the audio will be available through FM radio.
Tailgating activities will not be permitted and there will be no concessions or merchandise, but fans may bring food and beverages to consume in their vehicles. Single-occupancy restrooms will be available and will be disinfected after each use. All staff will wear personal protective equipment.
The shows will last one hour and the Texas acts will be playing acoustically. Band members will stand at least 6 feet apart from each other and there will be minimal crew.
Passes are priced at $40 per vehicle and the capacity is 400 cars. Fans that would like to park in the front two rows can do so with the limited $80 VIP passes. Passes go on sale on May 15 at 10am CT here. Note that passes for the event will be scanned at entry through the closed vehicle window.
