Elvis Costello & The Imposters to Embark on Summer Tour

Rock group Elvis Costello & The Imposters have announced a North American summer tour that will kick off on August 6.

In support of their recently released LP The Boy Named If, the tour will feature Costello alongside keyboardist Steve Nieve, drummer Pete Thomas, bassist Davey Faragher, and guitarist Charlie Sexton - who accompanied the band during their October 2021 Hello Again tour.

"Pete Thomas, Steve Nieve and I have been spinning around like your favorite 45rpm for [45] years, and let's be clear, Davey Faragher isn't anyone's deputy," Costello said in a statement. "The Attractions could have no more made [The Boy Named If] than we have any desire to time travel back to the 1970s. This is happening right now in 2022, we are coming at you, big as life and twice as ugly."

As for openers, Nick Lowe & Los Straitjackets will open 11 of the shows, marking the two acts’ first tour since 1989. Nicole Atkins will also join for 2 shows. Currently, the tour is set to run through September 3, but more dates are to be announced.

The group shared The Boy Named If, the band's 32nd studio album, back in mid-January. All of the tracks on the record were written by Costello.

The pre-sale for the summer tour is already happening, while the public sale is slated to begin Friday, February 18 at 10am local time via Costello’s official site.
