Eminem Makes Surprise Appearance During 'Stans' Documentary Screening
The real Slim Shady stood up and made an unexpected appearance during a sold-out New York City screening of his new documentary film, Stans. The event happened on August 6, during the film's premiere at the Rooftop at Pier 17.
E News reports that before the movie started, Eminem (whose real name is Marshall Mathers) took a moment to thank his fans for supporting him over the last two decades. After all, the film sees his biggest “stans” detailing how his music impacted their lives.

“This film was a thank you to all of you,” he told the audience, per a fan TikTok video. “This is my thank you to all of you for sticking by me the entire f--king time. Through all my bulls--t, through all my mediocre s--t, the good s--t, the bad s--t—all of it. I just want to thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
Eminem wasn’t the only star who celebrated his career. In fact, Devon Sawa - the actor who played Stan in the 2000 music video - also surprised fellow fans at the film’s pop-up party earlier in the day. He also brought his son Hudson to the event, and in a full circle moment, his little one took a photo with the 8 Mile rapper.
The film was released nationwide yesterday (August 7), and will be in movie theaters for a limited time. You can find showtimes and tickets for the documentary here.
In other Eminem news, the iconic rapper has received three nominations for the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards. "Somebody Save Me" featuring Jelly Roll is nominated for both Best Hip Hop and Video for Good, while "Murdergram Deux" with LL Cool J is also nominated for Best Hip Hop. He recently had a hilarious cameo in the Adam Sandler sequel Happy Gilmore 2 - which premiered on Netflix July 25 and debuted with a massive 46.7 million views in its first three days. It marked biggest US opening weekend for a Netflix film ever and the best for one of Adam Sandler's movies.
