Evanescence Announce New Graphic Anthology Series 'Echoes From the Void'

The gothic rock band Evanescence just announced a new graphic novel series, Echoes From the Void. The project combines the worlds of comic books and hard rock, resulting in a five-volume fantasy anthology with short stories based on themes from the band's songs.

The band teamed up with Incendium's OPUS imprint for the release. Singer Amy Lee oversaw the creative direction and artwork. Echoes From the Void will consist of 48-page deluxe comic books. Each edition will feature two or more story adaptations from Evanescence's musical repertoire.

The announcement comes just in time for this month's release of The Bitter Truth, Evanescence's fifth LP dropping on March 26. The first title of Echoes From the Void - written by Carrie Lee South and Blake Northcott and illustrated by Abigail Larson and Kelly McKernan - is inspired by two songs from the upcoming LP, "Better Without You" and "Wasted on You".

Regarding Echoes From the Void, Lee said, “I am so excited about this project series. The possibilities are endless. Collaborating across art forms like this is so unique, and it’s been fascinating to see how many different lives a song can have, like alternate realities. I look forward to working on this throughout the year and am so honored to break open this new world for our music.”
