Featured Spotlight Station: RNB103.net
Live365's "Featured Spotlight Station" this week is RNB103.net! We spoke with EJ about their setup, what listeners can expect to hear, and the station's favorite songs. Check out the interview below!
What brought you to Live365?
We needed a company that provided us with consistency, fairness, good people to work with, and technical assistance.
What's your studio like?
We are using NextKast software, Icecast2, a Blue Yeti microphone, and Sony MDR-7502 headphones.
What can listeners expect when they tune in to your station?
Listeners can expect lots of variety! We primarily play 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s R&B along with reggae and Latin music in our Caribbean Classics section.
We also have a variety of special shows including:
- 70s, 80s, and 90s Saturday Night Music Mix
- 60s and 70s Sundays
- Jazz Sunday Nights
- Artist Profiles, which is when we feature artist information from the present and past
What has been your favorite moment as a DJ/Station Manager so far?
Some of the best moments have been being nominated for the Billboard Radio Personality of the Year - Morning Show Category along with The Marconi Award. Also, raising over two million dollars for a youth organization was another really rewarding moment for me.
What is the best concert you've ever attended, and why?
Prince, need I say why...
What artist (dead or alive) would you love to see live, but haven't had the chance to see?
Bon Jovi
We asked for some of the station's favorite songs. Here's what they had to say!
We've been in radio over 30 years, so it wouldn't be fair because there are too many to count! But, here are a few songs that have played in the last hour:
- Me, Myself and I - Beyoncé
- I Want You - Marvin Gaye
- If You Really Love Me - Stevie Wonder
- Off On Your Own Girl - Al B. Sure
- Spotlight - Jennifer Hudson
