Featured Spotlight Station: The MUSIC People
Live365's "Featured Spotlight Station" this week is The MUSIC People! We spoke with Mike Cord about their setup, what listeners can expect to hear, and the station's favorite songs. Check out the interview below!
What brought you to Live365?
Live365 is the best platform to run my station on.
What's your studio like?
My studio consists of Nextkast, an Audioarts Air-1 Console, AKG C214 mic, and Sony MDR-V6 headphones.
What can listeners expect when they tune in to your station?
Listeners can expect soft pop and oldies. It's lots of lost hits and stuff not heard on radio for a long time or never, mixed with some familiar music and a couple of newer songs each hour. The MUSIC People is truly a wide variety from the 50s to today with a library of about 3500 active titles.
What has been your favorite moment as a DJ/Station Manager so far?
My favorite part is using my radio experience to program a "non-radio" station.
What is the best concert you've ever attended, and why?
Dan Fogelberg outside on some picnic grounds. It was just great music outdoors.
What artist (dead or alive) would you love to see live, but haven't had the chance to see?
Elton John
We asked for some of the station's favorite songs. Here's what they had to say!
- La-La Means I Love You - The Delfonics
- Rainy Night in Georgia - Brook Benton
- For Once In My Life - Stevie Wonder
- Lonely in Love - Dan Fogelberg
- Mother and Child Reunion - Paul Simon
- Put It Where You Want It - The Crusaders
- Midnight Cowboy - Ferrante & Teicher
- My Guy - Mary Wells
- Time (Clock Of The Heart) - Culture Club
- Am I The Same Girl? - Swing Out Sister
And there are many, many more!
