Frank Ocean to Headline Coachella in 2023

Frank Ocean has been MIA when it comes to live performances since 2017, but Coachella has revealed Ocean concerts are not off the table yet. In an interview for the Los Angeles Times, Coachella co-founder Paul Tollett revealed the singer will headline the famous music festival in 2023.

Tollett said the announcement of the far-off booking is a reward for fans who have experienced multiple postponements of the festival in the last year. Ocean was originally supposed to play at the 2020 edition of the festival alongside Travis Scott and Rage Against the Machine. Of course, the event - and Ocean's anticipated appearance - was scrapped due to COVID-19.

“Right now, it’s the Wild West,” Tollett said. “I’m just trying to be as fair as I can to artists and to the fans to make sure that eventually they get to see everyone that we talked about.”

While Ocean's booking is in the far future, Tollett confirmed Rage Against the Machine and Travis Scott will headline when the music festival makes its grand return in April 2022. A third 2022 headliner will be announced, according to the Times.

While Ocean still hasn't released any new records since his hit 2016 studio album Blonde, he has been making new music. Last year, Ocean released the double A-side single "Dear April" and "Cayendo." The tracks were follow-ups from his 2019 offerings "DHL" and "In My Room."

It was also reported last year Ocean had been working on a secret music video project with Call Me By Your Name director Luca Guadagnino. It is unclear if the film is still in production.
