Jason Aldean to Receive ACM Artist of the Decade Award

Jason Aldean will be receiving the ACM Dick Clark Artist of the Decade Award at the 54th Academy of Country Music Awards on April 7.

Aldean, a 13-time ACM Award winner, including ACM Entertainer of the Year for the past 3 years, is just the 6th performer to have been presented the ACM Artist of the Decade honor, following Marty Robbins, Loretta Lynn, Alabama, Garth Brooks, and George Strait.

Since 2005, Aldean has increasingly dominated country music, scoring 22 Number One songs in total, embarking on massive tours, and generating huge record sales. He will be hitting the road this summer with his Ride All Night Tour, which starts May 3.

"This is probably one of the coolest awards I’ve ever been given," Aldean said in a statement. "My heroes are on this list, something I can’t really even wrap my head around being part of. But, man, I’m proud to be getting it -- it’s for everyone who stuck with us and supported us through the years.”

Aldean will also perform during the ACM Awards. Reba McEntire is set to host the ceremony at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Chris Stapleton and Dan + Shay lead this year’s nominations, and more performers are expected to be announced in the coming weeks. The show airs live at 8pm ET on CBS.
