Jill Scott Will Return to the Road for 2023 Tour
Jill Scott, the Grammy Award-winning R&B singer-songwriter, announced yesterday (December 5) the tour honoring her debut album – Who Is Jill Scott? Words and Sounds Vol. 1 – will resume on February 28, 2023.
Back in 2020, Scott originally launched the tour to celebrate the 20th anniversary of her critically-acclaimed debut, but the anticipated tour was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic.“My band and I were so excited three years ago,” said Scott in a statement, “but that damn COVID shut us down. Now we outside! Come see me. Come feel again. Relive your favorite moments. Ya’ll ready to settle down and get with this?!? It’s a lot of love here.”
On the tour, Scott will perform all 18 tracks from her July 2000 record, which features “A Long Walk,” “Gettin’ in the Way,” “He Loves Me (Lyzel in E Flat),” and “The Way.” Produced by Live Nation, the tour will now celebrate the album’s 23rd anniversary. Scott will be making stops in Philadelphia, Brooklyn, Nashville, Atlanta, Los Angeles, and more, although additional dates are expected.
General sale tickets become available on December 9 at 10am local time. More details are available at missjillscott.com.
