JP Saxe Delivers Performance of 'Here’s Hopin'' with Help from John Mayer on ‘Colbert’

Canadian singer-songwriter JP Saxe and American singer-songwriter John Mayer joined forces Thursday (July 1) for a performance of Saxe's "Here's Hopin'" on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. The song is from Saxe's full-length debut album Dangerous Levels of Introspection.

The song was delivered as a calm guitar duet, with Saxe switching to an organ and Mayer hitting a guitar solo by the performance's end. "Here's Hopin'" and Dangerous Levels of Introspection were released at the end of June. The new album follows Saxe's 2020 EP Hold It Together, and features a collaboration with Marren Morris on “Line By Line.”

In other news, Saxe is set to embark on a North American tour this fall, from October 4th at the Palace Theatre in Calgary, Canada to November 18th at August Hall in San Francisco, CA. You can find tickets and the full schedule here.

John Mayer has released the single "Last Train Home" and is prepping for his next album Sob Rock. The record is due July 16. You can pre-order Mayer's new album from his online store.
