Justin Bieber Resumes World Tour After Ramsay Hunt Syndrome Announcement
Justin Bieber will be back on the road sooner than expected. On July 19, it was announced the pop superstar will resume his Justice World Tour after letting fans know the show was postponed due to him contracting Ramsay Hunt Syndrome, which caused facial paralysis.
The world tour will pick back up at the Lucca Festival in Italy on July 31. Bieber will then perform at a string of European festivals and continue on to South America, South Africa, the Middle East, Asia, Australia, and New Zealand through the end of the year. In 2023, Bieber will return to Europe. Details of his postponed U.S. shows are to be announced at a later date.
Back in June, a statement was released that read: “In light of Justin’s ongoing recovery, the remaining U.S. tour shows scheduled for June and early July will be postponed. Justin continues to receive the best medical care possible, is upbeat about his recovery, and is looking forward to getting back out on the road and performing for his fans overseas later this summer.”
He then followed the statement up with a candid video. “For those who are frustrated by my cancellations of the next shows, I’m just physically, obviously, not capable of doing them,” said Bieber on Instagram. “There’s full paralysis on this side of my face.”
As for Bieber's current state of health, various sources have claimed he is recovering just fine. Bieber first revealed his diagnosis in his June 10 Instagram video. On June 14, Today reported him and wife Hailey Bieber were spotted arriving at a Los Angeles airport. Around that time, Hailey Bieber stated on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon that "he's going to be totally OK."
The most recent update on Bieber's health comes from his mentor Usher, who, fifteen years ago, helped kickstart Bieber's career. Usher told Extra that he and Bieber had just recently hung out together on vacation.
“He is doing great,” Usher said. “Seeing him on vacation, we managed to hang out with each other, and I think that whatever he may be experiencing right now, it’s actually really great to see that he has the support from his fans and his family.”
