Kacey Musgraves Covers Elvis Presley’s 'Can’t Help Falling in Love' for 'Elvis' Movie

As part of the soundtrack for Baz Luhrmann’s new biopic about Elvis Presley, Kacey Musgraves has released a cover of Presley’s classic song “Can’t Help Falling in Love.”

Musgraves’ tender cover comes ahead of the film's release this Friday (June 24). The music video for her rendition features footage from the film, specifically the scenes between Presley (played by Austin Butler) and his wife Priscilla (Olivia DeJonge). Musgraves first performed “Can’t Help Falling in Love” at this year’s Met Gala, which she attended alongside Luhrmann, Butler, and Priscilla Presley.

The soundtrack for the film arrives the same day as the film, and features contributions from Doja Cat, Eminem and CeeLo Green, Swae Lee, Jack White, Diplo, Tame Impala, and more. Most of the singles from the soundtrack incorporate samples of original Presley recordings.

In other Musgraves news, the country/pop star released her most recent studio album, Star-Crossed, last year. Earlier this year, she went on a winter tour to support the album.
