Leon Bridges & Jazmine Sullivan Release New Song 'Summer Rain'

As part of his deluxe edition of the 2021 record Gold-Diggers Sound, Leon Bridges has given fans a special treat: a collaboration with R&B singer Jazmine Sullivan on a new song called "Summer Rain."

The jazzy, steamy, and lofi-esque track was produced by King Garbage (the duo of Zach Cooper and Vic DiMotsis), Nate Mercereau, and Ricky Reed. It was also written by Cooper, Dimotsis, Bridges, Mercereau, Sullivan, Reed, Dan Wilson, and Harold Lilly.

"Summer Rain" has marked another collaboration in the books for Sullivan in what can be described as a very busy year for the singer-songwriter. The release of her fourth studio album, Heaux Tales, garnered the Philadelphia native Album of the Year at the 2021 BET Awards. She also has been nominated for favorite R&B/Soul Album, Song, and Female Artist at the upcoming American Music Awards.

"Summer Rain" is the second collaboration she has been on this month alone, following the release of Rick Ross' "Outlawz" alongside rapper 21 Savage. The singer also recently recorded a song for Arcane - a Netflix animated adaptation of the popular League of Legends video game - and got a spot on the soundtrack for the streaming service's tick, tick... BOOM!: the new Lin-Manuel Miranda film which premiered November 12. Sullivan's latest single, "Tragic," was released at the end of June.

As for Leon Bridges news, the singer released Gold-Diggers Sound back in July. He will be embarking on a 2022 U.S. tour from March until May to support the record. (Tickets and dates can be found here.) His Austin City Limits performance recently aired on PBS.
