Lin-Manuel Miranda Releases Never-Before-Heard ‘Hamilton’ Track

Lin-Manuel Miranda, creator of the hit Broadway musical Hamilton, has released a never-before-heard demo track from the production.

Entitled "I Have This Friend," the track was originally intended to go where "Hurricane" is in the show. Miranda wrote and cut the song which was previously unheard by even Hamilton director Thomas Kail. Miranda sings both parts on the track.

Alluding to the widespread concern caused by coronavirus, Miranda tweeted, “Wish I could send you peace of mind via this app. Alas. But I can send you music no one’s heard. Here’s a cut Hamilton/Washington tune called I Have This Friend. No one’s heard it, not even Kail.”

Check out the track here.
