Linda Ronstadt Documentary 'The Sound of My Voice' To Air on CNN on New Year's Day

On New Year's Day, CNN will air the film Linda Ronstadt: The Sound of My Voice, which CNN had a part in creating. This airing of the film comes after a recent theater run.

The film tells Ronstadt's story through photos, video clips, Ronstadt's own words, and interviews with Dolly Parton, Emmylou Harris, Bonnie Raitt, and more. Directed by Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman, the film explores Ronstadt's career from her beginnings capturing public fascination to working to spotlight various artists and genres to retiring from performing publicly due to Parkinson’s disease.

Executives at CNN originally came up with the idea to try to tell Ronstadt’s story roughly two years ago. The Sound of My Voice is CNN’s second documentary on a musician with a unique career.

The Sound of My Voice airs on CNN at 9pm ET and PT on Wednesday, New Year’s Day. The film will encore Saturday, Jan. 4 at 9pm ET, and Sunday, Jan. 5 at 12am ET.
