Mariah Carey to Release Compilation Album 'The Rarities'

Mariah Carey has announced that she's dropping a collection of rarities this October.

Aptly named The Rarities, the 15-track album will collect the previously-unreleased collaboration with Lauryn Hill, “Save The Day,” as well as other unreleased tracks, demos, and B-sides from throughout Carey's career. 17 tracks from her live performance at the Tokyo Dome in the 1990s will also be included.

She announced the news on social media, saying, “This one is for you, my fans. It's to celebrate us, and to thank you for years of pure love and support. I am so grateful to you.”

The collection is set to be released on Oct. 2 and preorders are ongoing.

The Rarities is scheduled to drop just days after the release of the icon's memoir The Meaning of Mariah Carey, which is due out Sept. 29.
