Metallica Announce Second All Within My Hands 'Day of Service'
Metallica, their All Within My Hands Foundation, and Feeding America are partnering with 50+ food banks on May 22. The band is encouraging their fans around the country to volunteer at a participating local food bank as part of their second annual “Day of Service.”
The more than 50 participating food banks are located in communities that have supported the group on the North American dates of their WorldWired Tour. To find a participating food bank and registration information, visit Metallica’s website or the All Within My Hands website. All volunteers will recevie a commemorative t-shirt, and all volunteers must register in advance. Due to limited space, no walk-ins will be accepted.
Those that are unavailable on May 22, or who don’t live near a participating food bank are encouraged to visit the Feeding America website to find out other ways to contribute.
Last year, more than 1,000 people signed up to volunteer at the 25 participating food banks. To commemorate their first “Day of Service,” Metallica got in on the volunteering with drummer Lars Ulrich helping out at the San Francisco–Marin Food Bank.
Metallica formed the All Within My Hands Foundation in 2017 in order to assist with “creating sustainable communities by tackling the issues of hunger and workforce education and encouraging volunteerism.”
