Metallica Donate Over $1.5 Million to Local Charities During European Tour
Metallica have donated approximately $1.65 million (€1.5 million) to local charities during their 2019 European leg of the WorldWired tour.
In each city on the tour, the band donated money to a local charitable cause. The donations were made through the band's non-profit foundation All Within My Hands, which was established in 2017 as a means to invest in the people and places that have supported the band.
The band just completed the 25-show leg, with their final donation on Aug. 25 of €63,000 to Freezone Mannheim, a German homeless youth aid group.
Check out the band's tweet about the donations throughout the tour below.
A HUGE thanks to all who attended a #WorldWired European show for helping us donate over €1.5million to local charities over the course of the 25-show tour. And special thanks to #MetInMannheim fans for wrapping it up with this contribution to Freezone. #MetallicaGivesBack #AWMH https://t.co/PwKoKuKtyI
