Guyton wrote “Scary Love” with Emma-Lee, producer Karen Kosowski, and Victoria Banks in tribute to her three-year-old son. In a press release, she talked about her love for her son and how it influenced her latest single.
“There’s so many types of love, but for parents who truly love their kids, there’s nothing we won’t do for them," she said. "That kind of love is so scary because your heart is literally outside of your body and you’re seeing your heart grow up and become somebody. All you want to do is protect this person - that’s the scariest love that you’ll ever experience.”
Guyton released her debut studio album, Remember Her Name, in September 2021. Before that, she released four EPs. She’s more recently shared songs including “Woman,” “I Still Pray,” and “Somethin’ Bout You.” It's unclear whether these new tunes are standalone singles or part of an upcoming sophomore album. So far, Guyton hasn't formally announced any future LPs.
