Miley Cyrus Announces Seventh Studio Album 'Plastic Hearts'
Miley Cyrus announced on social media today that her seventh studio album is due out this fall.
At midnight, she shared that her new LP Plastic Hearts will arrive Nov. 27 via RCA Records. The project will be her first album in three years, following up 2017's Younger Now.
Cyrus revealed that she began working on the album over two years ago, but in the process, she lost her home in a 2018 California wildfire, which changed everything for her.
"Just when I thought the body of work was finished it was all erased. Including most of the music's relevance. Because everything had changed," she wrote.
She continued, "If it [the album] were a chapter in my book I guess I would call it “The Beginning” which usually when something is over we call it “The End.” But it was far from that."
Plastic Hearts is available for preorder now. The cover art for the album was shot by iconic Rock & Roll photographer Mick Rock.
