Ozzy Osbourne Commemorates Bat Incident With Plush Toy

On the 37th anniversary of the Prince of Darkness's notorious "bat-biting incident," Ozzy Osbourne released a new, limited edition item to his online store -- a plush bat with the Ozzy logo, complete with a detachable head.

On January 20th, 1982, the singer infamously bit the head off of a live bat on-stage in Des Moines, Iowa during his "Diary of a Madman" tour after a fan threw the animal at Osbourne's feet. He picked the bat up, and, as he wrote in his book "I Am Ozzy," he said "Immediately, though, something felt wrong. Very wrong. For a start, my mouth was instantly full of this warm, gloopy liquid, with the worst aftertaste you could ever imagine. I could feel it staining my teeth and running down my chin. Then the head in my mouth twitched. Oh fuck me, I thought. I didn't just go and eat a fucking bat, did I?"

Following the incident, Osbourne was treated for rabies as a precaution.

The first batch of the plush bat has already sold out, despite the $40 USD price tag. Check out Ozzy Osbourne's online store and order one for yourself.
