Paul McCartney to Discuss 60-Year Career with Rick Rubin in New Hulu Docuseries

Hulu has scored the rights to McCartney 3,2,1 - a new docuseries featuring Beatles legend Paul McCartney and record producer Rick Rubin. The two music titans will have in-depth conversations about McCartney's 60-year career. He will open up about his time in the Beatles, Wings, his solo career, and more.

The six-episode series will be available to stream July 16. This is the second Hulu documentary to feature McCartney. The Disney-owned streaming service also has the rights to the feature doc The Beatles: Eight Days a Week — The Touring Years.

“Never before have fans had the opportunity to hear Paul McCartney share, in such expansive, celebratory detail, the experience of creating his life’s work — more than 50 years of culture-defining music,” Craig Erwich, President of Hulu Originals and ABC Entertainment said. “To be an observer as Paul and Rick Rubin deconstruct how some of the biggest hits in music history came to be is truly enlightening. It is an honor that Paul chose to return to Hulu to share this one-of-a-kind series.”

McCartney 3,2,1 is headed by Emmy-winning and Oscar-nominated director Zachary Heinzerling (Cutie and the Boxers). Paul McCartney and Rick Rubin are among the show’s executive producers.

In December, the trailer for McCartney 3,2,1 was released. It shows McCartney and Rubin at a mixing board discussing songs and standout moments in McCartney's career. McCartney plays instruments, and vintage footage of him in the Beatles is revealed.
