Phoenix Drop Music Video for New Song 'Winter Solstice'
Phoenix have risen from their ashes and returned with another new song from their upcoming album Alpha Zulu. This time, it's a track titled "Winter Solstice" and it comes with a moody new music video.
The video is directed by Warren Fu and sees lead singer Thomas Mars singing through a smoky environment and on the peak of a mountain. “Winter Solstice” is Phoenix’s only song the band didn’t work on together in the studio. Instead, they wrote it remotely, building from a long loop that Lauren Brancowitz, Christian Mazzalai, and Deck D’Arcy sent to Thomas Mars, who then recorded a stream of consciousness.
Alpha Zulu, out November 4, will be the band’s first album in five years, following 2017's Ti Amo. They recorded the new self-produced record at Paris’ Musée des Arts Décoratifs, and it will include the previously-released “Tonight” – a duet with Vampire Weekend’s Ezra Koenig – and "Alpha Zulu."
You can pre-order Alpha Zulu here.
