Posthumous Album 'Away Is Mine' to Feature Gord Downie's Last Recorded Songs

Next month, nearly three years to the day since Gord Downie passed, the posthumous double album Away Is Mine will be released.

Away Is Mine will feature Downie's last recorded works from his July 2017 session at The Tragically Hip’s studio in Bath, Ontario with guitarist and co-writer Josh Finlayson and in-house engineer Nyles Spencer.

"This won’t be his last release, but these are the final 10 songs Gord sang before he passed away. The last time he ever sang into a mic. That’s pretty special to us,” Downie's brother Patrick said in a statement.

The release will include 20 tracks in total, with electric and acoustic versions of each song.

Away Is Mine is set to be released on Oct. 16 via Arts & Crafts. Two tracks from the album, “Hotel Worth” and "Useless Nights," are available now.
