Ronnie James Dio’s Autobiography Set for July Release
Before he passed in 2010, Ronnie James Dio was working on his autobiography, Rainbow in the Dark, with music writer and longtime friend Mick Wall. 11 years later, Wall has completed the book and it is set for release this July.
According to a press release, the book will offer an in-depth look at Dio's life, covering "everything from his fallout with Ritchie Blackmore, the drugs that derailed the resurrection of Black Sabbath, the personality clashes that frayed each of his three bands, and the huge bet he and [wife] Wendy placed together to launch the most successful endeavor of his career...his own band, Dio."
The singer's wife and manager, Wendy Dio, wrote the book’s preface. From there, the autobiography begins and ends in the same legendary location- Madison Square Garden, “the arena that represented the pinnacle of success" to Dio.
Rainbow in the Dark: The Autobiography will be released on July 27 via Permuted Press. The book is available for pre-order here.
