Sabrina Carpenter Shares Trailer for Netflix Special 'A Nonsense Christmas'
Sabrina Carpenter has partnered with Netflix for a new film titled A Nonsense Christmas. Premiering December 6, the variety music special will entail holiday classics, silly sketches, and incredible duets with some famous guests.
The title of the special shares the same name as Carpenter's famous 2022 holiday single. An IMDB logline for A Nonsense Christmas with Sabrina Carpenter reads, "Pop icon Sabrina Carpenter jingles all the bells in her first ever variety music special." According to Pitchfork, the film will include musical duets with Chappell Roan, Kali Uchis, Tyla, and Shania Twain. There will also be a star-studded cast making appearances throughout, ranging from Quinta Brunson as Ghost of Present to Sean Astin dressed up as Santa Claus. Besides classic yuletide tunes, the trailer for A Nonsense Christmas also promises “Sabrina’s holiday hits.”

Rounding out the cast—excluding surprise guests, of course—are Cara Delevingne, Kyle Mooney, Nico Hiraga, Megan Stalter, Owen Thiele, and Jillian Bell. Carpenter and her sister are billed as executive producers, as are her managers Bill Perlman and Janelle Lopez Genzink, Michael D. Ratner, Scott Ratner, Simone Spira, and Kfir Goldberg.
A source close to Warner Bros. tells Live365 that Carpenter's special was filmed on a soundstage at the Warner Bros. lot in Burbank, California (which explains Quinta Brunson's appearance, as Abbott Elementary is also filmed at the same Warner Bros. lot). A Nonsense Christmas was directed by Sam Wrench, who also helmed Taylor Swift's 2023 Eras Tour concert film.
In other Sabrina news: the pop star has earned six nominations at the 2025 GRAMMY Awards, including the big four: Album, Record, and Song of the Year, plus Best New Artist. It's all thanks to her sixth studio album Short n' Sweet, which she is currently supporting through a world tour. Carpenter has just finished the North American leg of the trek.
