Lil Wayne is an American rapper. Lil Wayne began his music career in 1991 when he was discovered by Bryan "Birdman" Williams and joined Cash Money Records as the youngest member of the label. Up until 1999 when Lil Wayne released his solo debut album The Block is Hot, Lil Wayne was half of the duo The B.G.'z and one-fourth of southern hip-hop group Hot Boys. Lil Wayne's solo debut album went platinum and he went on to release 12 studio albums total. He became particularly popular with his fourth album Tha Carter and has since released four more albums in Tha Carter series. Lil Wayne has sold over 100 million records worldwide making him one of the best-selling artists of all time.

Shaq and Lil Wayne have had several public interactions that showcase the love and respect that they have for each other. Lil Wayne firstly saluted Shaq on Twitter when his No. 34 jersey was retired. He wrote, “Salute to the Diesel!! #34.”

Shaq has showed some love for Lil Wayne on social media numerous times as well. On Facebook in 2012, Shaq posted an image of himself wearing a Lil Wayne shirt.

Shaq has also mentioned Lil Wayne a few times on Twitter. Firstly, he mentioned Lil Wayne as part of a song that he wishes could happen.

And, back in 2009, Shaq tweeted out the lyrics to Lil Wayne's song "Mrs. Officer."
