Simon and Garfunkel Release 'Live at Carnegie Hall 1969' EP
In honor of the 50th anniversary of Bridge Over Troubled Water, Simon and Garfunkel have digitally released a new live EP recorded in 1969 that previewed some of the songs on the LP at the time.
Entitled Live at Carnegie Hall 1969, the EP was recorded in November of that year during two sold-out nights in New York. It features previously unreleased versions of “Bridge Over Troubled Water,” “So Long, Frank Lloyd Wright,” “The Boxer,” and “Song for the Asking.”
Bridge Over Troubled Water was released two months after the performances at Carnegie Hall and the album went on to become the best-selling album of 1970. Shortly after and despite efforts to record another album together, the duo broke up and went on to pursue solo careers. Their last performance together was in 2010.
Live at Carnegie Hall 1969 is available on all streaming services.
