Steve Martin and the Steep Canyon Rangers Release New Collab 'California'

Steve Martin and the Steep Canyon Rangers have released a new song entitled “California.”

The bluegrass love song tells the story of the attempt to rekindle a romance that was lost amidst a move from Oklahoma to California. Martin sings, “Took a house in California overlooks the Sunset Strip/said you’ll join me when I’m settled/now I sit here six weeks in.” After promises of what the coast has to offer, he continues, “Come to L.A./bring your laptop/sell your show to HBO.”

A lyric video for the song has also been released, which appropriately features vintage California postcard imagery that was used to sell California to the rest of America in the early 20th century.
