SZA to Share New 'SOS' Deluxe Album This Week
The wait is over: SZA has confirmed the deluxe version of SOS – long teased with the title Lana – will arrive Friday (December 20).
Before SZA set the record straight, a trailer last week suggested Lana and SOS Deluxe were one and the same. SZA has been teasing the new LP since shortly after the release of SOS in December 2022.

In November 2023, SZA elaborated to Variety that Lana would be SOS “outtakes and some new songs,” but that it had grown beyond the usual scope of a deluxe edition.
“It was gonna be really soft, because I had made all my screaming points,” she said, “and I just wanted to glide and not think [too much] and get out of my own head—I was so happy to say some shit that didn’t mean a f--king thing.” The title refers to a tattoo SZA got years ago when she could only afford to have the second half of her name – Solána – tattooed.
After the Variety interview, SZA postponed an Apple Music Live show at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, claiming on social media she was making “some small last-minute changes to ensure the final product is something I can stand behind and also reflects what you deserve.” Since then, only one full song from the new album has been released.
To hype up fans for the drop, SZA has posted two clips to social media – most likely from an upcoming music video. They both feature actor Ben Stiller lip syncing to a new song while driving a car. In one of the teasers, Stiller veers over the double yellow road line, closing his eyes while letting the vehicle drift.
In other SZA news, the R&B star will soon hit the road with Kendrick Lamar on a joint tour. They'll hit up spots mostly along the East coast in April and early May, then travel to the West coast and Midwest through June. You can find tickets here.
