Taylor Swift Announces Next Re-Recorded Album 'Red (Taylor's Version)'

After releasing Fearless (Taylor's Version) in April, Taylor Swift has announced the next re-recorded album on the docket is her 2012 record Red.

Swift made the announcement June 18 over social media. Set to be released November 19, Red (Taylor's Version) will span 30 songs. Swift has even teased a 10-minute track, which fans speculate could be "All Too Well" due to Swift's history of talking about a longer version of the song. Additionally, the Twitter announcement for Red (Taylor's Version) included a scarf emoji, which could be a reference to the scarf in the "All Too Well" lyrics.

Rumors are also circulating that an Olivia Rodrigo collaboration is possible. This is because in the photo for the new version of Red, Swift is wearing a silver ring. She gifted Rodrigo an identical gold ring back in March 2021 following the young singer's success with her song "driver's license." Rodrigo showed off the gold ring in a Sirius XM interview.

“Musically and lyrically, Red resembled a heartbroken person,” Swift wrote in her announcement. “Like trying on pieces of a new life, I went into the studio and experimented with different sounds and collaborators.”

Red was the beginning of Swift's venture into pop territory. The original recording of Red features some of her greatest hits, including "I Knew You Were Trouble," "22," and "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together." The album was nominated for Best Country Album and Album of the Year at the Grammys, and the standard edition of the original Red consists of 16 tracks.

In 2019, Taylor Swift announced plans to re-record her Big Machine albums in order to regain control of her masters after Scooter Braun sold the originals. A pre-order for the digital version of Red (Taylor's Version) is now available.
