Tony Velour Drops 'ARIZONA' Ahead of New EP

Up-and-coming Atlanta rapper Tony Velour has released a new track, titled "ARIZONA," from his upcoming EP 4X4.

The EP will include "ARIZONA" as well as Velour's previously-released "MORE." The dreamscape-y "ARIZONA" appears to be an ode to Velour's upbringing, as the artist originally hails from Arizona and bounced back and forth between his parents' and grandparents' as a kid. Meanwhile, "MORE" is a sugar rush of a track that includes a knocking bass, crackling snare, and other fizzy electronic bits.

"I’m definitely getting more personal with my music, because I’ve evolved over the past couple of years by making so many things and growing up,” Velour explained about his new releases in a press statement. “I can look at myself from an almost out-of-body perspective, analyze my situation, understand who I am, and put it into words better. I continue to switch it up. It might have a bit of an electronic, EDM, or trap feel. I’m simply trying to represent myself as a person and as an artist.”

While "MORE" already has a music video available to watch, Velour will be dropping the visual for "ARIZONA" today (July 20) at 3pm ET. It comes after Velour teased fans three weeks ago with a clip called "I GOT IT," in which a blue-suited character catches and tosses a beach ball near a pool. The character has appeared in Velour's video for "MORE" and according to the music video's thumbnail, will most likely make an appearance in "ARIZONA."

4X4 will be out Sept. 9. In addition to "MORE" and "ARIZONA," the EP will include the tracks "AGNES KRUEL," "THAT," and "TIME HEALS."

Tony Velour began uploading his own music online in 2017. After a short stint in Los Angeles, he returned to Atlanta and dropped his debut album Vices Hurt in 2019 followed by 2020's 3M. Previously, Velour has worked with the likes of 100gecs and Injury Reserve. In the time between his new EP and 3M, Velour has released a string of EPs and singles. He dropped "Help Me Up," "NIGHTS2," "NEEDA HAND?", KYOT, 0.5 and "All I Need."
