Watch Taylor Swift Act in New Trailer for Upcoming Movie 'Amsterdam'

Taylor Swift is back on the silver screen. This time, she's making an appearance in David O' Russell's latest film Amsterdam, which also stars Margot Robbie, Christian Bale, Robert De Niro, and Rami Malek.

Other well-known actors appearing in the movie include John David Washington, Chris Rock, Anya Taylor-Joy, Michael Shannon, Mike Myers, and Zoe Saldaña, among others. The plot revolves around three friends in the 1930s who witness a murder, become suspects themselves, and uncover one of the most outrageous plots in American history. According to the trailer, "a lot of this actually happened."

Swift appears toward the trailer's end. Her role in the film is still unclear, but she's not a newbie to acting alongside a star-studded cast. Her last big acting role was in the film adaptation of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Cats, in which she played the character Bombalurina. She also contributed the song “Beautiful Ghosts”: a collaboration with Webber. Before that, Swift voiced a character in the kids movie The Lorax, and made an appearance in the 2010 movie Valentine's Day.

Swift has also contributed her own work to the movie business. She recently directed and acted in the short film for her song "All Too Well" (which starred Stranger Things actress Sadie Sink and Teen Wolf actor Dylan O'Brien). Back in 2020, her bombshell documentary Miss Americana had a successful festival run and is now available to watch on Netflix.

In other Swift news, the singer/songwriter recently delivered a commencement speech for the NYU class of 2022 (while also receiving an honorary doctorate herself), and released a new song "Carolina" last month.
