Will Smith to Release Memoir 'Will' This November

Will Smith is ready to open up about his life story...by letting fans open the cover of his new book. Smith has revealed the cover, title, and release date for his new autobiography, Will. Penguin Press announced Sunday (June 20) it will be on booksellers' shelves November 9.

Smith worked on the memoir for two years with co-author Mark Manson (The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F***). Smith will also narrate the audiobook of Will from Penguin Random House Audio. In an Instagram post, he called the project "a labor of love."

Will is set to explore Smith's life and career: from his upbringing in West Philadelphia to reaching superstardom as an actor and rapper. Smith is known for his roles on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Bad Boys, and Men In Black, and has won Grammys for “Summertime,” “Men in Black,” “Gettin’ Jiggy Wit It,” and “Parents Just Don’t Understand.”

Will is described as “the story of how one person mastered his own emotions, written in a way that can help everyone else do the same.”

“It’s easy to maneuver the material world once you have conquered your own mind,” Smith writes. “Once you’ve learned the terrain of your own mind, every experience, every emotion, every circumstance, whether positive or negative, simply propels you forward, to greater growth and greater experience. That is true will. To move forward in spite of anything. And to move forward in a way that brings others with you, rather than leave them behind.”

Will is currently listed on Amazon as the #1 Best Seller among actor and entertainer biographies. You can find places to pre-order here.
