Yoko Ono and John Lennon's 50th Anniversary 'Wedding Album' Rerelease Announced

Yoko Ono announced today, Feb. 18, on her 86th birthday, that a reissue of her 1969 collaborative album with John Lennon, Wedding Album, will be released on March 22.

The rerelease is in celebration of the couple's 50th wedding anniversary. Lennon and Ono married on March 20, 1969 in Gibraltar.

The original 1969 release of the Wedding Album also commemorated their marriage. The couple’s third collaborative LP came in a box filled with mementos from Lennon and Ono’s wedding, including photographs, drawings by Lennon and Ono, a copy of their marriage certificate, a picture of a piece of wedding cake, and more.

This rerelease is part of the Secretly Canadian and Chimera Music's ongoing Yoko Ono Reissue Project. The project, which launched in 2016, works to remaster and reissue all eleven of Ono’s recorded works.

Similar to the original release, this reissue will include a replica of the original box and souvenirs from their wedding and honeymoon. The LP will be available in limited-edition white vinyl, CD, and digital formats. You can pre-order it here.
