Z2 Comics Preps First-Ever Freddie Mercury Graphic Novel

Z2 Comics has announced it will be publishing the first-ever graphic novel of Freddie Mercury's life and career this fall.

The novel is called Freddie Mercury: Lover of Life, Singer of Songs. It was created in partnership with University Music Group and Mercury Songs Ltd, and is based on Mercury's autobiography Freddie Mercury: A Life, in His Own Words.

Penned by Tres Dean, the graphic novel will take a look into the powerhouse singer’s childhood in Zanzibar and his rise to fame as the charismatic frontman of one of the world’s greatest rock bands: Queen. Illustrations are by Kyla Smith, Robin Richardson, Safiya Zerrougui, Tammy Wang, and Amy Liu, with an accompanying cover painting by David Mack.

Freddie Mercury: Lover of Life, Singer of Songs is available for pre-order in standard 136-page softcover and hardcover editions. It will be available in comic and book shops, as well as record stores in November.

Z2 Comics is also selling a limited hardcover deluxe edition of the graphic novel. It contains an exclusive vinyl LP and limited edition prints by Sarah Jones, Kyla Smith, and Sanya Anwar.
