'Bob Marley: One Love' Biopic Shares First Trailer
The first trailer for the upcoming Bob Marley biopic from King Richard director Reinaldo Marcus Green is finally here! It sees Kingsley Ben-Adir (One Night In Miami, Love Life, The OA, Peaky Blinders) play the reggae legend during a high-stakes period of the artist's life.
The Paramount Pictures movie also stars Lashana Lynch (No Time to Die) as Rita Marley. The film focuses on the period after a 1976 assassination attempt on Marley, as he prepares to return to Jamaica in 1978 for the One Love Peace Concert.

The assassination attempt is addressed halfway through the trailer. "Bob, they tried to kill you and your wife," an interviewer says in the clip, "and now you're choosing to return to Jamaica to play a peace concert. Don't you fear for your life?" The visual then cuts to Marley, silent in contemplation.
Marley's son Ziggy, daughter Cedella, and widow, Rita, produced the film alongside Robert Teitel. Notably, Kingsley Ben-Adir learned how to play guitar for the role. The film comes during a small resurgence of the late Marley's career. A Bob Marley musical debuted in London in 2021, and throughout 2022 and this year, the Bob Marley One Love Experience has educated exhibition-goers about the Jamaican artist's life.
Bob Marley: One Love is due in theaters on January 12, 2024. Watch the trailer below.
